Sydney Rogers
Sydney, a Black Trans Femme, is a seasoned leader in entertainment, activism, and the LGBT community. With extensive lived experience and a Master's in Social Work, she has dedicated herself to civil community work. Sydney is passionate about bringing visibility and healing to the LGBTQIA+2 people, specifically the TGI community, mainly focusing on trauma-informed advocacy for mental health healing, empowerment, and social justice in BIPOC TGI communities.
Her impressive track record includes leadership roles at organizations such as the Gender Justice LA, California TGI Policy Alliance, and the Los Angeles LGBT Center, where she serves as the Program Manager of the Trans Economic Empowerment Project and the Equity Manager of Community Programs. She received the 2023 Williams Institute/Trans Latina Coalition UniTy Community Leadership Award in recognition of her commitment. Sydney's expertise extends to training, consulting, and advocating for gender inclusion, DEI advocacy, policy assessment, workplace culture shift, and other LGBTQIA+ issues with organizations like The Museum of Tolerance, The City of West Hollywood, SoCal Gas, and Wells Fargo.
Her deep commitment and resilience make her a fitting representative for the 3rd supervisorial district of Los Angeles County on the Commission. With her remarkable journey as a testament to the human spirit, Sydney is poised to bring understanding, healing, and compassion to her work.
Sydney was appointed by Supervisor Horvath and represents the Third District.
