Talha Khan-Valbuena

Talha Khan-Valbuena is an experienced trial lawyer sincerely dedicated to public service. As a career Deputy District Attorney, he has prosecuted a wide range of crimes in both adult criminal and juvenile delinquency courts. He currently serves in Mental Health court wherein he routinely seeks court’s intervention in conserving and rehabilitating county’s most violent mentally ill offenders. He is passionate about victims and LGBTQ+ rights and considers this his calling.

As an immigrant and a first-generation U.S. citizen, Talha brings an insightful perspective to the Commission drawing from both his personal life and professional experiences. Outside work, Talha is a nature lover and avid marathoner. This year he has pledged to run 2000 miles to raise Trans Youth awareness.

Talha was nominated to the Commission by the District Attorney and was appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
