Ed Reece

Commissioner Reece is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in both public service and business. As the first openly gay Mayor and current Councilmember of Claremont, California, he has a deep understanding of the needs of Los Angeles County LGBTQ+ residents. His extensive experience includes serving as Mayor, Councilmember, Executive Chairman, CEO, and other executive roles in various organizations.

Currently, he holds leadership positions in business, municipal, and regional governance, including the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments and the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority. As a successful entrepreneur and executive coach, he brings unique business acumen and strategic thinking to his roles.

Commissioner Reece is a dedicated advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, serving in leadership positions at organizations such as the League of California Cities LGBTQ+ Caucus and the Los Angeles County LGBTQ+ Elected Officials Association. His commitment to equality and inclusion is evident in his extensive advocacy work.

Ed was appointed by Supervisor Barger and represents the Fifth District.
