Community Engagement Subcommittee

The objectives of the Community Engagement Standing Subcommittee include:

• Identify and connect with existing LGBTQ+ community-based organizations and groups in Los Angeles County to learn more about specific issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community.
• Make recommendations to the LGBTQ+ Commission about specific topics and potential presenters for virtual or in-person events aimed at obtaining feedback from the wider LGBTQ+ community complimenting the Commission’s Mission and Vision.
• Oversee the LGBTQ+ Commission’s engagement activities to ensure a variety of topics, perspectives, organizations, and individuals are identified to incorporate into the advice and recommendations provided to the Board of Supervisors, County Departments, and County Commissions as necessary.
• On an annual basis, review and make recommendations to the LGBTQ+ Commission about topics for social media educational content provided to the Board of Supervisors Communications Departments, County Departments, and County Commissions.
